The Prosecutor’s Office urges LRT to remove the identified violations related to program purchases

The Lithuanian prosecutor office announced on Friday that its investigation found issues with how LRT reported on its 2025 non-public survey-based procurements. The report indicated that LRT failed to disclose data identifying the physical persons from whom it procured services. Furthermore, for all such procurements, LRT provided only a single, general explanation for why this specific supplier information could not be made public.

According to the report, the prosecutor office noted that LRT made a blanket decision not to publish the names and surnames of all physical person suppliers in its publicly available reports. Crucially, the investigation found that this general decision was implemented without assessing each individual procurement case. The report emphasized that LRT failed to establish the unique circumstances relevant to balancing procurement transparency, public access to information, and the protection of suppliers’ rights and legitimate interests on a case-by-case basis.
