The Seimas appointed M. Augustinavičienė as a member of VERT, dismissed J. Dilienė and D. Jasas who were about to end their terms of office

The Lithuanian Seimas formally approved the candidacy of Milda Augustinavičienė for the position of Minister of Justice following a submission by President Gitanas Nausėda. The confirmation process occurred during a reception where 74 Seimas members voiced their support, one member voted against, and twenty abstained. Alongside the appointment of Ms.

Augustinavičienė, the Seimas also voted to remove several officials. A motion to dismiss Darius Jasas received unanimous support from 73 members of parliament. Similarly, 73 representatives voted in favor of removing Arūnas Vyšniauskas and another 73 supported the dismissal of Audrius Zabarauskas.

The votes established a timeline for the personnel changes. The individuals who voted against the dismissals are scheduled to conclude their roles on Saturday, June 13th. Milda Augustinavičienė is expected to begin her duties on June 14th.

The Seimas will formally recognize the individuals assuming responsibility for the vacated positions. These decisions represent notable shifts in leadership within the Lithuanian government. The process underscores the Seimas’ role in overseeing and adjusting personnel within key governmental roles.
