He provided updates on the situation, noting that the prevailing wind direction from the southwest had not directed massive smoke clouds toward the capital. This assessment was made despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people had gathered in Madrid on Sunday evening to celebrate the Spanish national team’s World Cup victory. Regarding the immediate impact, García-Page stated that about 12,000 people had been evacuated from 30 locations within the area affected by the ongoing fire.
