A funnel-shaped cloud was observed several kilometers east of Raseiniai on Tuesday evening. Regarding this atmospheric event, meteorologist Gytis Valaika of the group “Weather and Climate in Lithuania” noted that it remains undetermined whether the cloud made contact with the ground, which would confirm the formation of a tornado, or if it represented only a nascent structure. Looking ahead, the weather forecast indicates varied conditions for the coming days.
On Wednesday, July 22nd, residents can expect intermittent rainfall, primarily concentrated during the early morning hours. Daytime temperatures are projected to range between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius. Thursday, July 23rd, anticipates a rainy night, which is expected to commence in the western and southwestern regions before spreading across Lithuania throughout the day.
Thunderstorms are forecast to develop again during the evening. Wind patterns are expected to be unsteady, reaching 3–7 meters per second generally, and 7–12 meters per second along the coast. Wind speeds are forecast to increase overnight to 10–13 m/s, rising further to 14–16 m/s on the coast.
Daytime temperatures for Thursday are predicted to settle between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius.
