The thieves targeted a construction site on the A1 motorway – the damage exceeded 32,000 euros

The local police department has reported significant property damage totaling over 32,000 euros, attributed to ongoing criminal activity by thieves. The police department received reports detailing multiple instances of theft and vandalism across several districts. One major incident was reported to the Raseiniai District Police Department on Monday.

Authorities noted that between August 21 at 9:00 PM and August 24 at 9:30 AM, property belonging to a company was stolen from an unsecured construction site located along the 145th kilometer of the Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda route. The missing equipment included two welding machines, 12 welding straps weighing 180 kg, approximately 600 meters of various cables, and assorted construction tools. Further incidents were reported across the region.

In Palanga, two commercial tents were found torn apart, with accompanying theft of goods in the Vilnius district, resulting in damages estimated at 1,500 euros. Separately, the police also received reports regarding fuel theft operations in the Ķekava district. The accumulation of these incidents underscores a pattern of criminal activity.

Authorities are investigating the scope of the damage caused by these thieves, coordinating efforts between various local police departments to address the security vulnerabilities exploited by the criminals.
