The Vilnius application “Kovas” will now send security messages in English, Polish and Ukrainian

In response to resident feedback, the development of the Kovas app for Vilnius has incorporated enhanced safety communication features. According to the municipal report, Mayor Valdas Benkunskas noted that a key concern raised by Vilnius residents was the need for access to safety information in multiple languages. Recognizing that emergency situations can heighten anxiety, the developers have expanded the language options within the application to include four languages.

Users who download the app can customize the display language through the settings menu. To change the language, users should navigate to the settings icon located in the upper right corner of the Kovas app, select the “Language selection” field, and mark their preferred language. If a desired language is not available, users will be prompted to update the application.

The system is designed to display all critical information in the chosen language. It is important to note that, for the purpose of rapid dissemination of information during various events, notifications within the app may appear in multiple languages simultaneously. These updates reflect the city’s commitment to ensuring that crucial safety details are accessible to the broadest possible segment of the Vilnius community.
