The bakery, which has been operational since 1994, has established a presence with its products across multiple international markets. The company sells its goods in Lithuania, throughout the European Union, and the United States, with its reach also extending to the United Arab Emirates. However, in May of this year, the company notified UŽT regarding the dismissal of several group employees, resulting in the elimination of up to 17 positions.
According to Milda Jankauskienė, a spokesperson for UŽT, the personnel most affected will be those employed within the bakery. Specifically, up to nine positions in the bakery sector are slated for elimination. Additionally, three sales agents will also be impacted by the job reductions.
When discussing workforce retention, a representative noted that attracting talent in the region can be challenging, suggesting that monetary compensation alone is insufficient to motivate employees. The dismissal process is being executed in accordance with Article 57 of the Labour Code. The employer has stipulated that the termination of the employment contracts will occur between June 15th and June 30th of this year.
