The young people who fired pneumatically-operated guns at buses and station pavilions in the capital and Vilnius district will stand trial

During a preliminary investigation conducted between June 23 and June 30, 2025, two individuals, identified as D. K. (born in 2004) and J.

L. (born in 2004), were implicated in an incident in Vilnius city and district. The pair were reportedly operating a BMW vehicle from which they discharged firearms at passing public transport buses and public transport stops.

Charges have been filed against them covering a total of 29 criminal acts, resulting in damages estimated to exceed 13,000 euros. In addition to the charges related to the shooting incident, separate accusations have been leveled against the individuals. One is accused of stealing foreign property, pursuant to Article 178, first paragraph, of the Criminal Code.

Another faces charges of unlawful possession of psychotropic substances without intent to distribute, as stipulated by Article 259, first paragraph, of the Criminal Code. Separately, during a search conducted in June 2025, police in Klaipėda apprehended a man who was allegedly in possession of a complete arsenal of weapons. These cumulative charges reflect the breadth of the alleged criminal activities.

The investigation into the shooting incident specifically concerns the actions taken by D. K. and J.

L. against the public transport buses. The authorities are pursuing these cases according to established legal procedures, addressing the multiple offenses charged against them.
