ESO representative Rasa Juodkienė reported on ongoing disruptions affecting the regional power grid, noting that several areas are experiencing interruptions to the electrical supply. Juodkienė stated that efforts are focused on resolving faults quickly and conducting intensive repairs across the network. She confirmed that the total number of affected customers has decreased, with approximately 1,700 customers currently experiencing issues.
The most significant disruption was reported in the Šiauliai region, specifically within the Akmenės district, where an outage in the cable network left about 1,566 customers without power. According to ESO, this incident stemmed from a localized cable network failure and was not related to adverse weather conditions. Teams are actively working on-site to restore the power supply, and service restoration is in progress.
In addition to the primary incident, disruptions were also noted in the Utena region, affecting the Ignalina district with two separate interruptions along the Dūkšto lines. Regarding broader utility costs, Juodkienė added that public electricity and gas rates are expected to increase in the near future. Overall, the company is prioritizing the stabilization of the power supply while addressing the root causes of the recent outages to minimize future service interruptions for all customers.
