Thousands of Vilnius residents were left without electricity on Wednesday afternoon

Reports indicate that residents in several areas of Vilnius, including Vanaginė, Santariškės, and Gulbinai, are experiencing disruptions to their electricity service. Residents are utilizing social media platforms to disseminate information regarding the outages, attempting to ascertain the cause of the problem and estimate when the electricity supply may be restored. According to data from ESO’s disruption map, the situation evolved throughout the afternoon.

At 17:00, 34 separate electricity supply disruptions were registered, reported by 52 customers. At that time, 2,775 customers were without power due to these disruptions, while an additional 404 customers had their service temporarily interrupted due to scheduled maintenance work. By 17:30, the number of affected individuals increased significantly, with a total of 5,034 residents reported as being without electricity.

While the scale of the disruptions is evident through the official figures, it remains unclear whether all recorded incidents are directly linked to the specific neighborhoods mentioned by local residents. Furthermore, the precise cause of the widespread electricity supply interruptions has not been determined. Authorities are monitoring the situation as the service providers work to restore full power across the affected areas.
