Following an extensive investigation, officers from the Ukmergė District Police Commissioner’s Office conducted a search of residents within the Ukmergė city and surrounding district on August 8th. The operation resulted in the seizure of various illicit materials across the area. During the search conducted in an uninhabited cottage within the Ukmergė district, authorities found 235.559 grams of narcotic substances identified as hemp (land parts).
Furthermore, a substantial quantity of 1,157,069 grams of hemp (land parts) was also found. In total, law enforcement recovered 1,392.628 grams of hemp (land parts), which authorities stated was intended for sale or further distribution. Beyond the seized processed materials, illegal cultivation was also uncovered.
Authorities found 356 units of hemp plants in Vidiškiai seniūnija, and an additional 58 units of hemp plants were found in Pabaisko seniūnija. These findings highlight ongoing efforts by the police to address the illegal trade and cultivation of hemp within the district. The operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the local police force to maintain public safety and enforce drug regulations across the region.
