Lithuanians from various parts of the country have been sharing photographs and videos showing not only the Lithuanian landscape but also approaching dark and thick clouds. The Facebook group “Meteorology Enthusiasts” has accumulated numerous images that depict the intensifying cyclone named “Cerry” bringing rain and thunderstorms. As previously stated by synoptician Elvyra Latvėnaitė, weather changes were expected as early as Saturday.
According to the synoptician, changes are anticipated starting Saturday. While some areas remain warm, the weather is expected to become rainy and noisy everywhere. She noted that a small cyclone, named “Cerry,” accompanied by an atmospheric front system, will reach southern Lithuania by Saturday night.
Furthermore, the system is projected to strengthen further and move through central Lithuania on Saturday day. Latvėnaitė explained that while Lithuania will still be in the warmer and calmer part of the cyclone’s influence Saturday night, the situation is set to change.
