Thunderclouds are rolling across Lithuania: the streets turned into rivers, and hail fell

Reports of severe and unpredictable weather have surfaced across various regions of Lithuania recently. Social media platforms have circulated numerous photographs and videos documenting intense natural phenomena. Specific weather events were recorded in several locations.

In the Kelmė district, residents reported witnessing bright lightning and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, in the town of Kelmė, rainfall was described as exceptionally heavy. Further north, a dark storm impacted the village of Užtiltė within the Zarasų district, leading to reports of intense rain and significantly reduced visibility.

In the municipality of Kazlų Rūda, a separate incident involved a significant hailstorm that passed through Gudelių. Residents shared images documenting the aftermath, showing grass completely covered in a layer of ice, appearing almost white. Forecasting services indicated that volatile weather patterns were expected to persist for the coming hours across parts of the country.

According to data from meteo.lt radar, the weather was noted as stormy across the northeastern and eastern portions of Lithuania at 15:20. These reports highlight the widespread nature of the recent inclement weather, affecting multiple districts with varying degrees of severity.
