Traffic will be restricted in Elektrėnai starting today: “We are asking for route planning in advance”

Preparatory activities are currently taking place at the designated site for upcoming infrastructure improvements. Initial traffic restrictions are scheduled to begin on Monday, June 29, coinciding with the installation of marking fences and road signs. The main construction works are slated to start on July 9-10.

The scope of the project involves extensive rehabilitation across approximately 200 kilometers of highways and main thoroughfares. Furthermore, the repairs will encompass vital structures, including bridges, viaducts, and regional roads. According to Juras Taminskas, acting Minister of Transport, while patience will be required from motorists, the completion of these works is anticipated to result in safer and more comfortable travel conditions.

Kauno tiltus has been contracted to execute the project, securing a contract valued at 20 million euros, inclusive of VAT. This contract covers the rehabilitation of a total length of 26.56 kilometers of roadway. The implementation of these significant infrastructure improvements is expected to enhance the overall quality and safety of the regional transportation network once all works are concluded.
