Two police officers’ cars collided in Kaunas – one policewoman needed medical help

On June 11, at approximately 7:00 a.m., an incident occurred in Kaunas involving multiple vehicles near the intersection of Nuokalnės g. and Utenos g. According to reports from the police department, the incident involved several police employees who were not on duty at the time of the collision.

The sequence of events began when a BMW X1, driven by one off-duty police employee (born in 1988), was involved in an initial collision with a second vehicle, also operated by an off-duty police employee (born in 1988), both traveling in the same direction. This initial contact subsequently caused the BMW X1 to accidentally strike a third vehicle, an Audi A5, driven by another police employee (also born in 1988). The driver of the Audi A5 sustained injuries in the accident and is currently receiving treatment on an outpatient basis.

Following the incident, the local authorities initiated an administrative proceeding concerning the collision. The police department has confirmed that all involved parties were police personnel who were not actively performing official duties when the accident took place. The investigation is ongoing to determine the precise cause of the multi-vehicle collision.
