Two young men from Ukmergė district were caught with a car, suspected of theft

The Vilnius County Police Department reported a significant incident involving the theft of a vehicle on August 18. At approximately 12:30 p.m., authorities noted the presence of a stolen Toyota Yaris in the Želva area, specifically within the Želvos seniūnija. The reported value of the stolen car was estimated at 3,000 euros.

Following the initial report of the theft, the vehicle was subsequently recovered by law enforcement personnel in the Bliūdašilio miške section of Želva seniūnija. The police department confirmed that during the investigation, a suspect was apprehended and taken into custody at the local station. The individuals identified as suspects were noted to have birth years of 2006 and 2003.

An official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft has been launched to determine the full scope of the incident. Under the provisions of the Criminal Code, the law specifies penalties for property theft. Individuals found guilty of stealing another person’s property are subject to penalties that may include public service, a financial fine, or imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years.

Authorities continue to process evidence gathered at the scene to ensure a thorough resolution to the case.
