Unemployment in Lithuania decreased – the lowest number of unemployed people in these municipalities

Employment figures for June indicate an increase in the workforce across several key economic sectors. Specifically, the wholesale and retail trade, accommodation and catering, manufacturing, and transport and storage sectors reported growth in the number of employed people. According to Jurgita Zemblytė, Head of the Monitoring and Analysis Department at the Employment Service, the labor market indicators for June reflect expected seasonal activity.

She noted that more people have returned to the workforce, coinciding with employers maintaining an intensive search for available staff. Based on current data, the situation remains favorable for individuals seeking employment, supported by a decrease in registered unemployment across most municipalities and a stable number of job offers available. The Employment Service data confirms recent improvements in the labor market.

Last month, registered unemployment saw a decrease of 0.3 percentage points. As of July 1, the overall unemployment rate stood at 7.7%. These metrics suggest a tightening labor market, characterized by increased participation from the general population.

The sustained stability in job offers, coupled with the downward trend in unemployment figures, provides a relatively positive outlook for job seekers navigating the current economic climate.
