According to Ernesta Vareikytė, the head of communication with the media at Maxima, the company conducted internal testing that detected Listeria spp. bacteria in the tongue and ears of a pig sourced for the specific product.
The affected item is identified as Daivida “Well Done,” in the highest grade, with a weight of 350g. Customers should note that the product carries an expiry date of September 23, 2026, and the associated batch number is 125231. Following the test results, Maxima immediately withdrew the product from the market and has commenced collection efforts from customers.
Details regarding the recalled product will be prominently displayed in all Maxima stores for the next two weeks. Maxima advises any consumers who still possess this specific product at home not to use it. Customers are urged to return the item to any Maxima store location to receive a full refund.
