V. Aleknavičienė: life’s value is measured not by achievements, but by the moments that touch and ennoble the soul

Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius announced on Wednesday that his LSDP colleague, V. Aleknavičienė, would not be serving in the new government administration. Instead, Sinkevičius nominated Lukas Alsis, the minister of culture’s chancellor, for the role.

The interim minister of culture issued a statement via Facebook on Wednesday. In the message, she expressed gratitude to various groups associated with the Culture Ministry. She thanked the Ministry’s team, deputy ministers, specialists, as well as the heads and staff of cultural institutions.

Furthermore, she acknowledged artists, creators, social partners, municipalities, the cultural attaché, and ambassadors with whom she had collaborated. According to the interim minister, the professionalism, dedication, and commitment of these individuals to Lithuanian culture provided her with daily motivation. The announcement signals a transition within the government structure concerning the portfolio for culture.

The nomination of Lukas Alsis suggests a change in leadership for the ministry. While the outgoing minister acknowledged the support of numerous stakeholders, the official confirmation of the new minister is expected to follow.
