V. Sinkevičius, after visiting G. Nausėda, finally presented what he will delegate to three ministries(1)

For the second time during the current parliamentary term, the Democratic “Socdems” party has delegated responsibility for three key government ministries to the coalition partners: Energy, Agriculture, and Health Care. While the party retained control over the Health Care portfolio, this transfer involved the stepping down of their previous minister, Maria Jakubauskiene. Earlier, V.

Sinkevičius indicated that his political group had identified a designated candidate for each of their party-affiliated ministries. He added that the names of these prospective candidates had been coordinated with M. Sinkevičius.

In a related political development, G. Nauseda formally presented M. Sinkevičius’s candidacy for the role of Prime Minister to the Seimas, stating that “responsible leadership is needed for Lithuania.”

The process of establishing leadership for these departments has been ongoing.

Specific appointments for the ministries included nominating Lukas Savickas as the Energy Minister, Kestutis Mazeika as the Agriculture Minister, and Linas Kukuraitis as the Health Care Minister. These discussions took place following a meeting between V. Sinkevičius and G.

Nauseda on Friday. The delegation of the three ministries and the subsequent presentation of the Prime Ministerial candidate underscore the ongoing negotiations and restructuring within the coalition government.
