VRK received the Social Democrats’ submission regarding the candidacy of V. Kondratovich for the Seimas elections

VRK received a request from Ruslan Baranov, a former aspirant for the Seimas, to officially withdraw his status as a political campaign participant. This development follows previous actions by the LSDP regarding Baranov’s political standing. Previously, the LSDP had nominated a candidate for R.

Baranov within the Nalchya northern constituency for upcoming early elections. This decision faced public criticism, particularly because the politician in question had already secured representation in the Seimas through a multi-member constituency election. Amid the ensuing public scrutiny, reports indicated a shift in the LSDP’s strategy concerning Baranov’s nomination.

Initial criticisms highlighted the perceived mismatch between his existing Seimas mandate and the proposed candidacy in the Nalchya northern constituency. Subsequent coverage noted that the “socdems” altered their approach regarding the candidacy of R. Baranov.

Meanwhile, other political figures were making their own moves. Eduardas Vaitkus, a former presidential candidate, announced his intention to run for office independently in these elections. The political maneuvering surrounding the candidacy of active ministers and other figures also saw adjustments, with reports detailing changes in whom the party would officially present as a candidate.

These developments underscore a period of strategic realignment among political parties as they prepare for the upcoming electoral cycle and the confirmation of representatives to the Seimas.
