Jurgita Gaidienė, head of the JUDU Value for Customers Development division, advised the public on Friday regarding the authenticity of various payment methods and QR codes. She stated that JUDU does not request personal data or payments via QR codes or SMS messages. According to Gaidienė, official JUDU QR codes are exclusively located within public transportation areas, specifically when the service is being evaluated for quality assessment.
She emphasized that JUDU does not place or prompt users to scan codes in any other location. If residents encounter any such codes affixed elsewhere, she advised them to report the location to JUDU, and staff members will investigate the matter. Gaidienė further noted that fraudulent activity often involves placing suspicious QR codes on items like parking meters.
She clarified that payment for parking in Vilnius must be conducted through the official mobile application or via SMS to a designated number. This guidance aims to help the public identify legitimate payment channels and avoid potential scams associated with fake codes.
