Weekly speed record in Kaunas district: 85 km/h faster than allowed

Road Police officers recently conducted extensive enforcement operations across the Kaunas and Jonava districts, focusing on identifying instances of impaired driving and various traffic violations. During the recent week, police personnel checked over 6,500 vehicles in the Kaunas district. The enforcement efforts resulted in the identification of 30 individuals operating vehicles under the influence, 34 drivers who were not authorized to drive, and 162 instances of mobile phone usage while driving.

Separately, a specific traffic violation incident was reported on June 15th at 9 a.m. in Ramučių village, located within the Kaunas district. A vehicle driven by a man born in 1997 was observed traveling at 115 km/h, significantly exceeding the posted maximum speed limit of 30 km/h.

This excessive speed resulted in the driver receiving an administrative offense record. These operations underscore the ongoing commitment of the authorities to maintain road safety standards within the region. The consistent monitoring of vehicle behavior helps enforce adherence to established speed limits and driving regulations.
