Effective July 13, the contracts governing the design, construction, and infrastructure maintenance for the second stage B and C components of the Rūdninkų military town have become fully operational. According to a report from the KAM, Merko Statyba is set to commence the project’s full implementation once the necessary financing processes are concluded. The development plan outlines a substantial undertaking for the military town.
Authorities indicate that the scope of construction covers an area exceeding 90 hectares. This development will incorporate approximately 179,000 square meters of dedicated military infrastructure. The infrastructure itself is multifaceted, planned to include around 100 structures designed for various purposes.
These buildings are categorized across more than 50 different classifications, suggesting a comprehensive approach to revitalizing the area. The phased implementation, covering the second stage, is designed to systematically build out the necessary facilities while adhering to established planning guidelines for the town. The Ministry emphasized that this multi-faceted development aims to establish a modern and robust civic and defense presence within the Rūdninkų military complex.
The activation of these contracts marks a significant progression in the long-term development and modernization of the site, ensuring that the planned infrastructure can move forward efficiently once funding milestones are met.
