Preliminary calculations from SADM suggest that if the MMA is set at 1,245 euros and the current tax-exempt income bracket remains in effect, the after-tax income for MMA earners would see an increase of 56 euros in the coming year. This would bring their minimum income to at least 902 euros.
This projected income level surpasses the preliminary forecast for the 2027 poverty risk threshold, which is estimated to reach a minimum of 868 euros per person. The overall increase in the MMA and the hourly wage aims to provide a measurable boost to the earnings of affected workers. The revised structure reflects a substantial adjustment in the cost of living, necessitating a significant increase in mandated minimum earnings across various employment sectors.
