The mayor introduced a proposal to the council, stating that the municipality regularly receives numerous business and technology proposals, alongside interesting projects submitted for political review. He noted that these opportunities also include securing European funding. Regarding the proposed minibus, the mayor specified that the vehicle is of Estonian manufacture, has a capacity for approximately eight passengers, and can operate at speeds up to 30 kilometers per hour in autonomous mode.
This autonomous minibus is planned to operate along the route connecting the base of the Tom Manno hill to the museum. The estimated cost for implementing this trial project during the festival is approximately 15,000 euros, excluding VAT. The rationale behind the proposal centers on improving accessibility to the museum.
Furthermore, the mayor mentioned that buses adorned with artwork by M. Kosinkaitė will be deployed on the streets, creating a traveling gallery that will visit various locations across Lithuania.
