The Panevėžys court sentenced a man who sold non-existent cars and tractors to prison

The court recently issued a ruling concerning systematic criminal activity, resulting in a final suspended four-year prison term for the defendant. In addition to the sentence, the court mandated that the individual fully compensate all affected victims for damages incurred. Furthermore, the judgment included the confiscation of several cars registered in the names of the defendant’s relatives.

According to case data presented, the offenses took place between July 2022 and the beginning of 2023. During this period, A. Daucianskas was found to have defrauded three separate individuals through deception.

In one documented instance, the defendant convinced a victim that he was selling a tractor originating from Finland, leading the victim to transfer a significant sum of money to a bank account located in Belgium. A second case involved the forgery of a VAT invoice, through which the defendant successfully obtained over €9,000 from a man related to purported, non-existent cars. The third instance of fraud resulted in the misappropriation of more than €9,000 from a different victim.
