The women’s basketball team will be preparing for the European Championship without its leaders

Marius Tamolis, the head of the Lithuanian women’s national basketball team program, has outlined the preparatory schedule for the country’s women’s national team. The intensive preparation phase for the team is set to commence on July 20th in Klaipėda. This initial phase will culminate in a four-team tournament.

Tamolis specified the itinerary for the upcoming competitive schedule. The four nations participating in the initial tournament will be Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, and Poland. Following this, the team will continue its work in Vilnius before traveling to Sweden.

The final tournament of this preparatory cycle is scheduled to take place in Finland. Regarding player availability, Tamolis reported that nearly all the intended players have been gathered for the program. Furthermore, he detailed subsequent selection windows for the women’s team.

These selection periods are planned for the autumn and winter months and will involve matches against teams from Finland, Sweden, and Belgium. This structured approach aims to build the team’s readiness for future international competition.
