A new test for drivers: one street will become impassable for the day

Traffic flow on a specific section of the road connecting Savanorių prospektas and the adjacent roundabout will be significantly restricted on June 23. The closure is scheduled to take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

This restriction is necessary to facilitate extensive asphalting works currently underway in the area. The municipal authorities have indicated that the paving project involves laying a new surface layer, which requires specialized equipment and thorough curing time. As part of the comprehensive infrastructure upgrade, certain areas will undergo load-bearing test procedures to ensure the longevity and quality of the materials used.

Consequently, access points from nearby business premises and residential yards will be temporarily inaccessible during the specified hours. The scope of the work necessitates the complete closure of the designated roadway segment. Commuters and local businesses are advised to plan alternative routes to mitigate delays.

The Kaunas City Council has acknowledged the disruption caused by these essential improvements, issuing a statement that apologizes for the temporary inconvenience to the public while the necessary upgrades are completed. Residents and workers relying on these thoroughfares should prepare for altered travel patterns throughout the day.
