Media: to achieve Telia and VTPSI data through a cyber attack against global companies

Cybercriminals have reportedly targeted a wide range of entities, according to reports. Among the affected organizations are the telecommunications company Telia, the State Inspectorate for Territorial Planning and Construction (VTPSI), numerous construction companies, a furniture store, and various e-commerce networks. Furthermore, global companies such as Toyota, Foxconn, Accenture, and Siemens were also reported to have been impacted during this cyber incident.

The attacks, identified as “FortiBleed,” were reportedly executed using automated tools. These tools were designed to locate and exploit unprotected “Fortinet” firewalls and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The scope of the cyber activity suggests a systematic effort to breach multiple sectors.

The targeting pattern indicates that the attackers focused on vulnerabilities within network security infrastructure. The inclusion of both local institutions, like VTPSI, and multinational corporations highlights the breadth of the cyber threat. The use of automated scanning tools suggests a high level of sophistication in the cyber operations employed against these diverse companies.
