Multiple incidents involving fires have been reported at various locations, including a significant event at a multi-story parking lot in the center of Vilnius. On a separate occasion, a fire was reported at a central parking lot in Vilnius near the Government building on July 22nd. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 11:37 and confirmed the presence of a fire originating from a parked Mercedes-Benz ML.
The smoke was observed coming from the vehicle’s interior, and the blaze was reported to be quickly extinguished. Separately, a more extensive fire occurred at a different multi-story parking lot in the early hours of the morning. This incident involved a burning BMW electric windsurfing battery located within an adjacent apartment building.
Firefighters reported a prolonged struggle to control the blaze, which lasted approximately seven hours. During the event, an explosion was reported, and personnel noted the death of 30 rabbits. Tragically, the incident resulted in one fatality when an individual was burned to death.
Authorities investigating the scene noted that the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Furthermore, while the vehicle was found smashed, the reason for the broken glass has also not been established by emergency responders. These reports detail multiple instances of fire activity across the city’s parking infrastructure.
