Veličkienė, the current infrastructure provides strong support for individuals with Type 1 diabetes, specifically citing excellent access to Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems. Furthermore, patients have adequate access to necessary treatments, including insulin pumps. For those diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, the system offers notable possibilities for receiving subsidized medications.
These positive assessments were highlighted when she compared the situation to neighboring countries. Dr. Veličkienė noted that the conditions in Latvia and Estonia are significantly worse, implying that the standard of care there is not comparable to Lithuania’s.
