For comedian Dominyko Klajumo to express suspicions of incitement to hatred

Law enforcement has initiated an investigation concerning D. Klajumas, alongside A. Kisliakas and A.

Zimaitis, following an incident that occurred approximately one year ago. The investigation stems from the men’s alleged mockery of individuals with shorter stature during a broadcast on the talk show, “What’s the Difference?” Notably, D. Klajumas himself reported the initial suspicions regarding the incident, leading to the formal inquiry.

The legal action references specific provisions within the Criminal Code concerning public speech. Under this code, the law penalizes any individual who publicly mocks, incites hatred, or promotes discrimination against an individual or group. Such protected characteristics include, but are not limited to, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, skin color, nationality, origin, social status, religion, or personal beliefs.

The law stipulates that violations of this nature can result in penalties ranging from public service or a fine to a restriction of freedom, or imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years. The investigation thus centers on whether the mockery directed at a specific group crossed the threshold into legally actionable incitement of hatred or discrimination. The focus remains on determining if the actions of the individuals, including D.

Klajumas, constituted a violation of the established anti-discrimination statutes.
