On Thursday evening, local authorities in Šiauliai responded to a report of domestic violence. According to the police department, the incident was reported by a woman, who was born in 1965, alleging that her husband was physically assaulting her at their residence on J. Basanavičiaus street.
When officers from the police arrived at the location, the husband reportedly confronted the authorities. He actively resisted both the Šiauliai city and district police commissioner, who was born in 1989, and another police officer, who was born in 2003. Following the intervention, the officer who provided initial medical assistance is currently receiving outpatient care.
The suspect, identified as the man born in 1965, was found to be intoxicated, with preliminary readings indicating a blood alcohol content of 0.96 percent. He has since been taken into custody at the police station. Authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation concerning the incident of resistance to police officers.
