At approximately 11:43 a.m., the Kaunas Fire Brigade responded to a reported fire incident located in the Gudžiūnai municipality, specifically at a residence on Gumbinės street in Gudžiūnai village. The structure involved was a single-story brick house featuring a mansard roof. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered that a room within the dwelling had become engulfed in flames, with a bed visible smoldering amidst the blaze.
The intense heat from the fire caused the windows of the affected room to blow out. Firefighters addressed the immediate danger by containing the smoldering materials, including the bed and surrounding walls. Household items, a gas stove, and electrical equipment were carefully removed from the structure and placed into the open air for safety.
In efforts to control the spread and mitigate smoke damage, the roof of the house was dismantled, and water was applied to the area to eliminate the lingering smell of smoke. The occupant of the property was checked and was reported to be uninjured; medical assistance was declined by the resident.
