A large forest fire is raging on the German border: huge smoke columns are rising

Firefighters were dispatched to the De Rosmoleno nature reserve, located near the village of Oostrum, to combat a blaze and prevent its further spread. Massive columns of huge smoke ascended over the forested area situated between Venlo and Neimegen. The resulting poor air quality necessitated the evacuation of a nearby camping site housing approximately 300 campers.

Furthermore, train services between Neimegen and Venray were suspended as emergency crews operated in close proximity to the railway tracks. The incident prompted concern, as images circulated detailing a fire event. Separately, a forest fire was reported raging near Athens for the fourth consecutive day.

In response to this blaze, firefighters established a defensive strip within the forest, and the Dutch army deployed a firefighting helicopter. The Netherlands, a European nation, is the location of the current forest fire. The scale of the smoke and the necessary emergency responses indicate significant efforts were underway to manage the situation across multiple regions.
