According to details emerging from a criminal case, a vehicle valued at 21,200 euros, identified as a Toyota C-HR, was abducted during the night of August 2024. Investigations revealed that the individuals involved orchestrated the theft by coordinating their actions and utilizing an electronic device to bypass the car’s security system, enabling both unlocking and starting the engine. The initial abduction of the car occurred in the Druskininkai area.
Subsequently, the men transported the vehicle to a remote forest mass located within the Alutaguse district. Officers from the district police commissioner successfully located and apprehended the group at the forest site. The investigation also noted the capture of a young Lithuanian national in Poland.
This individual was found hiding in a forest while in possession of a stolen Lexus vehicle, evading police authorities. Regarding the legal aftermath, the court reviewed the appeal filed by the convicted persons. The court ultimately rejected this appeal, thereby upholding the original ruling issued by the Alutaguse district court in December 2025.
