A man from Vilnius who barely stood on his feet was seen waving a replica of a pistol – he was arrested and blown up with 3.5 promils

On June 2 at approximately 3:51 p.m., an incident occurred on Medeinos street in Vilnius involving a man who was reportedly intoxicated. According to reports from the local Police Department, the individual was observed brandishing a pistol, described as potentially an airsoft replica, toward people in the vicinity. Responding police officers intervened, successfully disarming the man and taking possession of the weapon.

Following the incident, the police took custody of the man and subsequently placed him at the police station. Authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation concerning a violation of public order. The incident highlights a pattern of similar reports regarding the misuse of replica firearms.

Previous reports detail instances where intoxicated men have been linked to such weapons in other Lithuanian locations. For example, other documented cases involve individuals found with toy pistols resembling real firearms, leading to police intervention in areas such as Marijampolė and Kaunas. In the recent Vilnius case, the swift action by the police ensured the de-escalation of the situation and the recovery of the weapon as evidence.

The investigation is currently focused on determining the full scope of the public order violation committed by the man.
