The prosecutor overseeing the pre-trial investigation into the murder of a paramedic in Panevėžys has announced a modification to the preventive measures concerning one of the suspects, E. Gaigalas. According to the prosecutor’s office, the decision was made after determining that the objectives of the ongoing legal proceedings could be met through less restrictive measures.
As a result, E. Gaigalas was released from detention on August 6. His continued involvement in the investigation is now subject to two new conditions: posting a bail of 10,000 euros and signing a written undertaking guaranteeing that he will not leave the country.
Separately, Gaigalas is identified as the father of another individual implicated in a case involving Justina Sadauskienė, the former wife of M. Sadauskas. During related proceedings, Gaigalas disclosed details regarding how he acquired information pertaining to J.
Sadauskienė’s father. He stated that during searches conducted in connection with the matter, authorities recovered not only weapons but also explosives. These revelations provide new details concerning the scope of the evidence gathered during the investigation.
The prosecutor’s office continues to manage the procedural aspects of the paramedic murder case while addressing these related developments.
