He reported making two bank transfers intended for the purchase of granulated sugar; however, he neither received the product nor the funds, resulting in a reported loss of 2,480.62 euros.
Separately, on June 30, a woman, born in 1969, contacted the Šilutė County Police. She reported a fraudulent transaction involving a tractor purchased via an online website. The woman stated that after transferring an advance payment on June 9, she never received the vehicle, nor was the money returned.
These incidents highlight ongoing issues with online scams. The police have also addressed broader cases involving significant losses. In one noted instance, a man was defrauded after being lured by an advertisement for a BMW on an overseas site, resulting in substantial financial and material losses.
Furthermore, authorities have been involved in subsequent legal actions related to these scams.
