Separately, the MFA issued an update on Thursday morning concerning an incident involving a Lithuanian man and a group of pilgrims. The Lithuanian embassy in India reported that these individuals were reportedly in the line of fire during an accident at the border crossing point between Nepal and China.
Vitkauskas reiterated the search efforts, confirming that contact had been established with one person involved in the incident. However, he maintained that providing further details on the status of the remaining members was not possible at that moment. The statements emphasized that while the investigation is ongoing, definitive figures regarding the total number of missing Lithuanians remain unavailable to the public.
