All the Kaunas rescue service rushed to save an elderly woman – the old lady was found dead

On July 6th at 9:05 a.m., firefighters from the Kaunas Fire and Rescue Service responded to a call at Grunvaldo Street in Kaunas. The initial report indicated that an apartment door needed to be opened, as an elderly woman was believed to be inside and potentially ill. Sources reported that the woman had not opened the door for the previous two days.

Firefighters arrived at the scene via motorcycle and proceeded to the third floor of the building. They managed to open the window and subsequently opened the apartment door from the interior, allowing access for medical personnel and police officers. The incident highlights the necessary intervention by emergency services when access to an individual inside a residence is restricted.

The Kaunas Fire and Rescue Service’s actions allowed medical and law enforcement professionals to reach the woman inside the apartment. This event is distinct from other recent incidents reported in the region, such as the fatality of an individual in a Klaipėda store, the discovery of a body in Klaipėda, or the investigation involving a woman suspected of murder. The primary focus of this report remains the rescue operation conducted by Kaunas emergency services for the elderly woman.
