Antakalnio poliklinika warns about scammers pretending to be its employees

Vitalija Gelžinytė, deputy director of management at Antakalnio polyclinic, issued a statement advising the public regarding potential identity fraud. She emphasized that polyclinic staff will never request patients to provide access data or sensitive personal identification numbers over the phone. The polyclinic clarified that while confirmation of identity may occasionally require a personal code or date of birth, this process only occurs when the patient initiates the call to the reception desk.

The health care institution has reported instances where residents are receiving unsolicited calls. These callers frequently identify themselves using the name of the Antakalnio polyclinic and claim to be offering various services, such as preventive programs, sick leave certificates, or necessary tests. However, the deceptive practice involves pressuring individuals into disclosing highly sensitive personal data, including electronic banking login credentials or personal identification numbers.

The polyclinic urges all residents to remain vigilant and exercise caution when receiving calls regarding their health status. Patients are strongly advised never to disclose any confidential personal data or access information to callers who initiate contact. Adherence to these security guidelines helps protect individuals from potential fraud targeting their personal information.
