Storm clouds are currently moving across the country, bringing heavy thunderstorms to many locations, particularly in the eastern regions. Some areas are reporting strong winds reaching up to 15–18 m/s. Forecasters anticipate that over the coming hours, storm clouds will advance toward the northeast in numerous areas.
Residents can expect short-term heavy thunderstorms, general thunderstorms, and the possibility of hail. These weather events may also bring winds of up to 15–20 m/s, with an increased probability of strong winds. Reports from residents include footage of significant hail in Varėna, alongside accounts from Vilnius detailing intense, albeit brief, rainfall.
Earlier, the company Grinda also issued advisories regarding potential weather changes. Grinda warned that stronger winds pose a risk of breaking tree branches and could lead to temporary water accumulation in the lowest-lying areas of the city. Furthermore, these conditions may cause traffic disruptions.
The company stated it would monitor the situation continuously and take prompt action if necessary.
