ELTA: Briefly: one of the “Snoro” leaders V. Antonovas stood in court

On Monday, several significant legal and political proceedings took place in Lithuania. One notable event involved Vladimir Antonov, identified as a former leader of the bankrupt Snoras bank. Antonov, who had evaded law enforcement for approximately 15 years, appeared before the court as the court of appeal commenced hearing his criminal case.

In parallel legal proceedings, the Kaunas District Court began examining the criminal case against Eugenijus Sabutis, a parliamentary candidate and former minister of transport. Separately, in the realm of politics, Mindaugas Sinkevičius addressed the press after meeting with the Conservative Party faction of the Seimas. Speaking to the media, Sinkevičius stated that there are at least three potential candidates available to lead the Ministry of the Environment.

Furthermore, during his statements, he explicitly denied any professional or personal ties linking him to the construction company Menstata. These developments highlight a busy week across different sectors of Lithuanian governance. The judiciary handled matters concerning former corporate leaders and government officials, while political figures addressed potential leadership roles within the government structure, providing updates on staffing options for key ministries.
