Anykščiai Mayor Kęstutis Tubis reported on Wednesday morning that a significant portion of the local district was experiencing widespread loss of electricity. The scale of the disruption was substantial, according to reports from R. Juodkienė, who noted that during the peak of the disturbances, there were approximately 90 instances of electricity supply disruptions within the Anykščiai district.
Consequently, more than 11,000 consumers were left without power. Initially, the most severely affected areas included the Vilnius and Kaunas districts, as well as the entirety of the Utena district. In response to the widespread infrastructure failure, the energy provider outlined a structured protocol for service restoration.
An ESO representative stated to Eltai on Thursday that network restoration efforts are executed according to strict priority levels. The initial focus is directed toward mitigating damage that poses an immediate threat to public safety. Following this, restoration efforts prioritize facilities essential for vital services.
The overarching goal remains the prompt restoration of electricity supply to the maximum number of consumers possible. This systematic approach ensures that resources are allocated efficiently across the affected district. The process moves sequentially, addressing immediate safety concerns before tackling general residential and commercial needs.
