Eight-year-old competitors G. Acutė and Hakaia, alongside their horse Wersado, have dedicated several years to preparing for a major international event. Their journey has required overcoming numerous challenging tracks abroad and successfully acquiring the necessary qualifications for the upcoming championship.
This significant competition is scheduled to take place in Jullianges, France, from July 29th to August 5th. While both duos feel prepared for the demanding start, the primary objective at the French tracks is the successful completion of the full 120 km distance. According to N.
Vilbikas, this represents a considerable level of responsibility. “This is the biggest race for both Wersado and me, so motivation is definitely high,” Vilbikas stated. “I feel a sense of responsibility, but that is a natural component of competing at this level.”
The training regimen has been rigorous, and the athletes are focused on maintaining performance throughout the entire duration.
The stakes are high, as historical data indicates that only two out of five duos manage to reach the finish line in this specific competition. Vilbikas emphasized that while preparation is complete, the immediate focus must be on executing the start flawlessly and making sound decisions throughout the race. She concluded by expressing her pride in the opportunity to represent Lithuania at this prestigious championship.
