For Vilnius residents – a message about the storm’s impact: urge to prepare, warns that streets may flood. It also states the direction in which the main storm band is moving

Weather forecasters have issued advisories regarding a small cyclone named Yuna, which is expected to traverse Lithuania starting from the south and southwest on Wednesday. Residents can anticipate periods of rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail across the country. While the western regions of Lithuania are forecast to experience cooler temperatures, the eastern and southeastern parts are expected to remain hot.

These warmer areas are particularly prone to thunderstorms, with the highest likelihood of heavy hail and stronger wind gusts. The severe heat is anticipated to give way to refreshing rainfall across various locations. In certain areas, residents should prepare for wind gusts, heavy hail, and strong wind gusts.

Specifically, the southeastern portion of the country, including the Druskininkai, Varėna, Šalčininkai, and southern Vilnius districts, will see the transition from extreme heat to refreshing rain. Furthermore, the local street cleaning company, Grinda, has issued a warning to citizens regarding the potential impact of the strong storm. Authorities advise the public to remain cautious due to the expected adverse weather conditions, including the combination of rain, thunderstorms, and hail.
