G. Nausėda will reward Lithuanian and foreign citizens for their work and for promoting the name of the country

A Presidential Decree has announced several recipients slated to receive high honors from Lithuanian national decorations. Among the distinguished individuals recognized is U.S. Senator Richard Joseph Durbin, who is scheduled to receive the Commander Grand Cross of the prestigious Order of Vytautas the Great.

Furthermore, the Commander Cross of the Order of Merit of Lithuania is designated for three notable figures. These recipients include Freda H. Hutchison, the founder and director of the association LNG Allies; Ditte Maria Juul Jørgensen, the Director General for Trade and Economic Security within the European Commission; and Addison “Joe” Graves Wilson, a member of the U.S.

House of Representatives. In recognition of significant contributions to the scientific community, the Order of the Grand Duke Gediminas is set to be awarded to biochemist, scientist, and academician Vilmantė Borutaitė. This specific honor acknowledges her substantial merits in the field of science, her extensive international academic activities, and her dedicated efforts toward promoting Lithuanian science globally.

These awards underscore international recognition of contributions in diplomacy, science, and global economic security. The conferral of these various orders and crosses reflects deep appreciation for the recipients’ achievements across multiple sectors.
