A heavy drunk driver was stopped by a pillar in Kaunas

Multiple traffic incidents were reported across different regions, involving varying degrees of severity. In one incident near a viaduct, the Kaunas Fire Brigade received an evening report concerning a light car that had collided with a signpost. Upon arrival, responders noted that the airbags were deployed, and the driver was found seated but unresponsive.

Investigation revealed that a Volvo V70, traveling on the motorway after the viaduct, had collided with a lighting pole, resulting in the vehicle overturning. Authorities confirmed that the driver was not trapped within the wreckage. Police subsequently reported that the driver was intoxicated at the scene of the collision.

Following this event, state “Road Maintenance” was informed regarding the overturned lighting pole. Separately, a distinct and fatal accident occurred in Vilnius. Reports detailed that a 19-year-old operated a BMW, driving the car into a pole.

This collision resulted in the deaths of two passengers. In the aftermath of this vehicle incident, the car’s battery was disconnected as part of standard procedure. These reports highlight varied safety concerns, ranging from impaired driving in the Kaunas area to serious collisions in Vilnius.
